FIC Chemistry

The mission of the Food Innovation Center - Analytical Chemistry is to provide analytical chemistry and mass spectrometry in support of the other FIC locations. This location has specialized in research quality, mass spectrometry and data interpretation for over 30 years.



Analytical Services Facilities:

  • Gas Chromatography (GC) with FID, NPD, ECD, FPD and GCO detection

  • High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) with Photodiode Array (PDA), UV-Vis., Refractive Index (RI), Flourescence and Evaporative Light Scattering (ELS) Detection

  • GC-MS including High Resolution Magnetic Sector Mass Spectrometry and Tandem Mass Spectrometry (Triple Quad MS-MS Systems)

  • HPLC-MS including Tandem Mass Spectrometry (Triple Quad MS-MS systems) with Electrospray Ionization (ESI)

  • Headspace and Short Path Thermal Desorption Accessories for GC and GC-MS systems with Purge & Trap-Thermal Desporption (P&T-TD), Direct Thermal Desporption (DTD), Headspace and Pyrolysis Capabilities

  • Redundant Instruments Described Above, Dedicated & Optimized for Various Analytical Procedures to Assure High Throughput Capability

  • Other Laboratory Services Including Microscopic Imaging (Digital Stereo Light Microscopy), Elemental Analysis byb ICP-MS, FTIR and General Wet Chemistry are also available
